Red face

My face gets red in areas not covered by helmet padding. I use make up so can't put on "gunk" but the red iritated part of my face needs to be handled. Live in Los Angeles Californa so it is warm all the time so a mask didn't seem to be right solution - unfortunately. Anyone have any suggestions?
