Protective gear for summer riding

Wondering if someone can give me some advice for protective summer riding gear?

I am wondering specifically about a summer riding jacket. It gets 90+ here but I am feeling the need for a little more protection than I have been wearing in the past.

Also wondering about riding pants? I like the looks of draggin jeans, any other suggestions?
